    Kate Pounder, MC

    Kate was most recently the inaugural CEO of the Tech Council of Australia, the peak body representing the Australian tech sector. She has extensive leadership experience across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. She is passionate about jobs growth and helping businesses make the most of tech opportunities.

    Toby Walsh, keynote speaker

    Toby is a renowned public intellectual, academic and author specialising in artificial intelligence. Toby is an award-winning AI researcher, author of four books on the subject for the general public, sought-after speaker, and advocate for limits around AI to ensure it is used to improve our lives.

    Stela Solar, panellist

    Stela is Managing Director, Data and AI at Accenture ANZ. Stela also serves on the Data & AI Advisory Council at Beyond Blue. A recognized technology leader, she previously served as the Inaugural Director of Australia's National AI Centre and Co-chair of the Commonwealth AI Consortium after holding several leadership positions at Microsoft, including Global Director of AI Solution Sales and Global Partner Co-sell Leader.

    Lee Hickin, panellist

    Lee has over 30 years’ experience in the technology industry, having been in technical, sales and business development roles. Most recently he was the CTO for Microsoft ANZ and then lead the Asia region for Microsoft’s global Responsible AI team. Today Lee leads the Australian National AI Centre (NAIC), with a mission to enable and support Australian Industry and society in its adoption of and acceleration through AI technology and services.

    Liming Zhu, panellist

    Dr Liming Zhu is a Research Director at CSIRO’s Data61, the AI/digital arm of Australia’s national science agency, and a conjoint professor at UNSW. He contributes to the OECD.AI’s AI Risks and Accountability, the Responsible AI at Scale think tank at Australia’s National AI Centre, ISO AI standards committees, and Australia’s AI safety standard.

    Lucy leads the Strategy, Planning and Performance Division at the DTA. Her work helps ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to government’s investment in digital and ICT. A key priority for Lucy is driving the achievement of the Australian Government’s vision to implement world class digital capabilities to deliver outstanding outcomes for all.
