Australian Government AI transparency statements

This page lists Australian Government entities that have published AI transparency statements in line with the Standard for AI transparency statements under the Policy for the responsible use of AI in government (the AI Policy). These statements are intended to build public trust and provide a consistent basis for understanding and comparing how government agencies adopt AI.

Statements are published by individual agencies on their own websites. The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) maintains the list of links on this page as a central reference.

This page was last updated on 26 March 2026. The DTA will periodically ensure that links are correct and update this page when entities advise of changes.

Agencies are responsible for the content, accuracy and currency of their own statements. The DTA does not validate or endorse individual statements.

For questions about this page, email ai@dta.gov.au. Questions about a specific agency's AI use should be directed to that agency.

Mandatory statements

This list provides links to the mandatory AI transparency statements published by non-corporate Commonwealth entities (NCEs) that are subject to the AI Policy. NCEs are defined by the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). For more information on PGPA entities, visit the Department of Finance website

The list is organised by portfolios, as established through the Administrative Arrangements Order (AAO), available on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet website.

Voluntary statements

The Policy does not apply to corporate Commonwealth entities (CCEs), the defence portfolio and the national intelligence community (NIC) as defined by section 4 of the Office of National Intelligence Act 2018.

These entities may choose to publish AI transparency statements on a voluntary basis. Defence portfolio agencies and the NIC may choose to publish transparency statements where this does not compromise national security capabilities or interests.

The list below captures AI transparency statements published on a voluntary basis.
